English: The lower half of these traditional fishing boats are carved from a single "wawa" tree cut from forests usually in the Ashanti region. They are then brought to the seaside and side walls are added and the boats are decorated with carvings and paintings to not only distinguish the boats, but also protect the fishermen on their long, dangerous expeditions.
